Genny Weaver was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and spent the next few years traveling the world. She lived in Uganda, Mozambique and South Africa before finally circling back to the Deep South. She currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama. Her vibrant, colorful paintings incorporate her deep faith, love for people, and excitement for adventure.

Her original work is available online, in the Grand Bohemian Gallery in Birmingham, Alabama, and in specialty stores. Specialty stores include Trouve in Birmingham, Kyle Office Supply in Tuscaloosa, and Living Well in Fairhope, Alabama. She also specializes in creating custom pieces to fit your space. She has been painting for clients for two years. Her practice began while working in the slums of Mozambique. Painting was an outlet to express herself while away from home and slowly turned into a hobby she had trouble putting down. After much encouragement, she decided to go public with her work on social media and quickly had a business creating what she loved. This past year she also displayed her work at the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival and the Mountain Brook Village Open House.  In Fall of 2016 she is attending University of Alabama at Birmingham to further her education in Art. She plans to attend graduate school in Fall 2017 to get her masters in Art Education.
